CATHOLIC ARCHDIOCESE OF KADUNA- NIGERIA EDUCATION COMMISSION: ORGANS AND FUNCTIONS

This document is produced to provide further clarity for the effective and smooth implementation of the provisions of the Catholic Church policy on Education in Nigeria (CBCN Sept 2005and CSN June 2015). It has also taken cognizance of Kaduna Archdiocese Education review committee report of May 2009.Similarly, expectations of the Archdiocese of Kaduna Revised Pastoral Plan 2017- 2022 with particular reference to the aim of the Education Commission have been sufficiently covered in the document.
The Functions of the Education Commission as constituted at the Parish, Deanery and the Archdiocesan levels are carefully spelt out. The duties of the Education Secretary and the Archdiocesan Education Commission Chairman and indeed other members representing Deaneries and the Quality Assurance management teams are clearly defined. This is intended to enhance effective synergy and smooth operation for maximum positive outcomes.

In relation to other Commissions and Organs of the Church, while the Education Commission Chairman renders progress reports to the Archdiocesan Pastoral Executive Council (APEC), the Education Secretary on the other hand, does so to the Archdiocesan Council of Priests.

It is expected that key actors in the Education Commission and other Organs will note and play their respective roles diligently to bring about the much desired outcomes.
